I tend not to like most writing advice and seminars. The advice given is so clichéd, that unless it’s your first day, you won’t hear anything new.
If you’ve been at it for a few years, you can recite the advice by heart.
- Write every day.
- Write what you know.
- Show, don’t tell.
- Follow your passion.
- Blah blah freaking blah.
(I even used #3 in an online webinar, and if you’re seeing this page, there’s a good chance it’s because you saw the webinar. If so, thank you very much!)
If you’re a “content marketer who writes” — as opposed to a “writer who does content marketing,” which is what you really are — some of this advice may be old hat. But I hope you find some new advice that helps you grow from an intermediate to advanced writer, or advanced to expert.
