Do you need search engine-friendly content?
How to write search engine-friendly content
In 2012, we would have told you writing is done for two audiences: people and search engines.
You had to write copy that was interesting to read, but still used all the right keywords, hyperlinks, and anchor text.
These days, Google doesn’t care about that anymore. They don’t want tricks and tactics. Use too many of those, and they’ll penalize your website, drop it in the rankings, if not delete it from their index completely.
Now, they’re focused on user behavior. They look at how long visitors spend on a particular page, whether they look at other pages on the site, and whether they shared the site on social media. That means if your content is too long, too short, or too uninteresting, they won’t stick around and Google may penalize the website. At the very least, it will be outranked on the search results pages.
But if you can tell a good story, make it interesting, and make it valuable, Google will reward you with higher rankings because readers are showing up, sticking around, and sharing.
